The Hub4Food Project – Atlantic Food Innovation Hub aims to enhance the research, development, and innovation capabilities of the food industry and research and technology organizations in the Atlantic Area, as well as to promote the development of new and improved food products (with a focus on marine origin). Hub4Food will promote the adoption of new technologies and processes to increase the sustainability and competitiveness of the Atlantic food sector. In turn, the project will help improve the support services that businesses (especially SMEs) benefit from.
Hub4Food Activities
- Technological Roadmap: A roadmap that outlines the potential for innovation and growth of the Atlantic food industry, acting as a database of organizations in these matters.
- R&D&i Program: An R&D&i program to test and validate the viability of pre-identified advanced technologies and products, in collaboration between SMEs and technology centers.
- Service Program: A program of services aimed at a wide range of companies in the food sector, especially focused on innovation.
- Citizen Initiatives: Initiatives with citizens, bringing together science, administration, and society, to promote greater participation and knowledge of the general population about the food sector.
Hub4Food is a transnational initiative, coordinated by Clusaga, in which 10 other organizations – agri-food clusters and technology centers – from France, Spain, Ireland, and Portugal collaborate. The project, funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027 programme, has a total budget of around €3 million and will run from January 2024 to December 2026.
