MEATwin (Development of an AI-based Digital Twin of Production Planning for the Meat Sector) is a strategic project designed to promote competitiveness and the transition towards digital leadership in the meat sector. This initiative is based on industrial research in different Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, modeling and analysis of processes and data and hyperspectral vision, for subsequent integration into a digital twin. This twin is intended to serve as a production planning tool in companies in the meat sector.
The objective of the project is, for the first time, to integrate all these technologies into a single tool that represents a solution to make integrated use of them. MEATwin's great commitment lies in the effective implementation of the tool in the sector after its development. Thus, thanks to the use of a digital twin based on AI, a cross-sector tool will be achieved, which will facilitate SMEs' access to quickly implemented digital technologies and direct them towards maximum efficiency in their processes.
In this way, MEATwin addresses the meat sector's need to improve planning and production through data collection, sensorization and visualization of key indicators correlated in a single tool, at an affordable cost for SMEs. And, consequently, it will boost the sector by allowing companies to make better and more agile decisions in their processes.
The project consortium includes four technology companies (Norlean, TripleAlpha, Kaizen Institute y RIA 21), two technology centres (ANFACO-CECOPESCA y Fundación Centro Tecnolóxico da Carne) and a food company in the meat sector (Jamones González)
MEATwin receives funding from the 2023 call for the support program for Agrupaciones Empresariales Innovadoras (AEI) del Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo and it is coordinated by Clúster Alimentario de Galicia (Clusaga).
