SIIOMA is an industrial research project focused on the development of artificial intelligence–based agents to assist maintenance and production operations through natural language interfaces connected to enterprise management systems. The project aims to optimize the management and access to technical knowledge in order to improve industrial competitiveness and working conditions, and it has a consortium made up of nine entities that combine sector expertise and technological capabilities: two Innovative Business Groups (CLUSAGA and DIHGIGAL) and seven companies (PANIAGUA, CAMBADOS, BARRAL, SNOP, ASM, LOGICMELT, and MEDRAR).
Objectives
- Analyze and characterize maintenance and quality industrial processes in real environments.
- Develop a reference architecture to integrate LLM-based agents in diverse environments.
- Develop and adapt intelligent agents with explanatory and operational capabilities at shop-floor level.
- Validate agents in real plant conditions, evaluating performance and added value.
Impact
The project aims to provide industry with an “intelligent layer” that centralizes and interprets technical knowledge, which is currently often fragmented and dispersed across manuals, fault histories, and reports.
Project Consortium
- Food companies: PANIAGUA (HPaniagua S.L.), CAMBADOS (Conservas de Cambados SL), and BARRAL (Queixería Barral SL).
- Automotive company: SNOP (SNOP Estampación SA).
- Technology companies: ASM (ASM Soft SL) and LOGICMELT (Logicmelt Technologies, S.L.).
- Sustainability and innovation companies: MEDRAR (Medrar Smart Solutions SL).
- AEI: CLUSAGA (lead entity) and DIHGIGAL (collaborating entity).
Benefits
SIIOMA will improve industrial efficiency through the use of artificial intelligence to optimize maintenance, quality, and technical knowledge management, reducing response times and errors, increasing equipment availability, and promoting sustainability and worker autonomy through natural language–based tools.
Funding
SIIOMA receives funding from the 2025 call of the support program for Innovative Business Groups (AEI) of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, and is coordinated by the Galicia Food Cluster (Clusaga).
