The Galician Food Cluster (Clusaga) and Galician food retail company Vegalsa-Eroski presented the “Galician Products of the Year 2026: Innovation and Excellence” campaign this Friday at the Eroski A Sionlla hypermarket in Santiago de Compostela. The initiative showcases the quality, creativity and innovative capacity of Galician products recognised at the 2026 Galicia Food Awards, held on 11 June.
Running throughout August, the campaign will give consumers the opportunity to discover a selection of products recognised at these awards, reinforcing Clusaga and Vegalsa-Eroski’s commitment to promoting Galicia’s food sector and turning supermarkets into a showcase for the wealth, diversity and talent of the Galician food industry. The presentation was attended by representatives of Clusaga, led by its CEO, Juanjo de la Cerda, and its director, Roberto Alonso; representatives of Vegalsa-Eroski, including Eroski Business Director Florentino Vázquez and Purchasing Director Jorge Eiroa; and Martín Alemparte, Director of the Galician Food Quality Agency (Agacal), part of the Regional Ministry of Rural Affairs. All those present highlighted the importance of this collaboration in giving Galician companies greater visibility, boosting their competitiveness and bringing consumers products that embody the excellence and innovation of the food sector.

The campaign will also give consumers the opportunity to discover products such as Bagazitos, the first snacks made from brewer’s spent grain through a circular economy process; Pazo do Val cheese, protected by the Arzúa-Ulloa PDO; Aboa Migalla artisan bread, produced under the Pan de Cea and Pan Galego PGIs; Vida G functional water, enriched with flavanols; Optimilk PRO Matcha Tea dairy drink; Al Lío freeze-dried fruit; PetFlurry yoghurt for pets; and Serie Limitada Escurís, a premium preserve made with Galician bonito tuna.
In addition, participating brands will be able to use the official 2026 Galicia Food Awards seal, a distinction that identifies recognised products and strengthens their prestige and consumer confidence.
Through this initiative, Clusaga and Vegalsa-Eroski are turning Eroski stores into a showcase for contemporary Galician food, offering consumers a representative sample of the sector’s richness and diversity. The campaign brings together products that combine tradition, innovation, sustainability and identity in a single space—from products inspired by Galicia’s cultural heritage or protected by recognised quality schemes to proposals based on the circular economy, functional foods and emerging consumer trends. It reflects the ability of Galician companies to innovate without losing sight of their roots, as well as the dynamism of a food ecosystem that positions Galicia as a benchmark for quality, creativity and added value.
