Food companies must adapt their product design strategies, communication and marketing to the European regulations on food information available to consumers and on authorised food and health claim declarations, tailoring communication strategies and substantiating health declarations associated with their products.

Following this line, the consumer health and food project (ALIMENTASE) defined as an objective the fact of upgrading and structuring available information on regulations, labelling, nutritional and health claims declarations and the vision of the consumer on all these aspects.

The project implemented an information and analysis integral service on key aspects related to regulations and communications in the field of nutrition, health and consumption. The participating companies will provide information about their products and marketing and communication strategies or on new developments they wish to improve in order to seize the opportunities generated by the new regulatory framework, interacting with experts in each of the areas of work: legislative, nutritional, and health, communication, and consumption, obtaining a report of strong and personalised recommendations to be directly applied in the product innovation and marketing and communication strategy.
