The INNOFOODS project studies the feasibility of the development of products with a modification of processes, the incorporation of bioactive ingredients or the enrichment of the nutritional profile to obtain new or improved food adapted to the requirements of specific groups of population. In this way, the project seeks to help in diversification, differentiation and increase the added value of food products developing new products adapted to the new nutritional requirements, with formats adapted to the new demand of consumption of certain specific groups.

Several projects in this area coordinated by the cluster with the participation of partner companies and technology centers were developed in the years 2015 to 2017:

Innovation in approach of food products and beverages adapted to new consumer trends. Clean Label. The overall objective of the project is the development of food products and beverages improved in its composition, from the reformulation, by removing artificial additives, managing to meet the demands of consumers regarding the use of natural ingredients, healthiest products and clean labelling.

Innovation in dairy products for the nutrition of the senior population. Seniorlact. This project has as objective the development of dairy products, destined for the elderly population, which can play a preventive role and reduce the risk factors that cause certain diseases, providing a better health condition that will lead to greater well-being and quality of life.

Innovation in personalised Nutrition through Cluster cooperation in the Silver economy INCluSilver seeks to benefit from the opportunities related to personalized nutrition and senior economics, through the strengthening of innovation in products and services from various sectors, aimed at the population segment of more than 50 years.

NUTRIAGE Advanced Solutions for Healthy Aging through Nutrition is aimed at the generation of advanced solutions in research and innovation, focused on the demand of new adapted products, to improve the quality of life of older persons in the Galicia-North of Portugal Euroregion.

TITTAN Translation, Innovation & Technology Transferin Ageing Network aims to establish a knowledge exchange network to promote innovation and technology transfer in the field of health, especially in the ageing of the population.
