NUTRIAGE Advanced Solutions for a Healthy Aging through Nutrition aims to generate advanced solutions in research and innovation, oriented to the demand of new adapted products, to improve the quality of life of the elderly in the Euroregion Galicia-North of Portugal Euroregion.

The development of the project is being carried out by a consortium formed by the Galicia Food Cluster - CLUSAGA, the Consellería de Política Social, Xunta de Galicia (Coordinator), the University of Santiago de Compostela, the Portuguese Catholic University – Regional Center do Porto, The Integralar Association (PortugalFoods), the National Association of Manufacturers of Canned Fish and Seafood - National Technology Center for the Conservation of Fishery Products (ANFACO-CECOPESCA), the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, the Foundation for Research the Investigation, Development and Innovation Ramón Domínguez (Ramón Domínguez Foundation) and the Santa Casa da Misericordia do Porto.

The objective of the project is to ensure a healthy aging through the evaluation, study and design of personalized nutritional strategies based on traditional Atlantic food and the development of new food products that optimize the nutritional status of the elderly and prevent their functional and cognitive decline, generating capacities in R & D & I that favor the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly from nutrition, reinforce the sustainability and efficiency of the health system and encourage growth and the generation of new business opportunities for the agri-food industry.
